I get it, no one wants to yell and certainly, no one wants to be yelled at.
I was yelled at when I was a child, and I would be willing to bet you were too. But let me ask you…

Almost every company I can think of is making moves to comply with Michelle Obama's plea to improve products and retreat on marketing junk food to kids.
I use 'junk food' here as shorthand for foods of minimal nutritional value relative to calories. Whether these moves will be effective, or will merely constitute lip service, remains to be seen.

Researchers at Indiana State University in Terre Haute tried a small experiment to test the effects of having kids play with heavier toys.
They found that 10 children ages 6 to 8 burned more calories and had higher heart and breathing rates when they moved 3-pound toy blocks instead of unweighted blocks.

Like many parents, Diana Ennen had trouble getting her daughter Amber to exercise.
So two years ago, Ennen decided that Amber was coming to the health club. Now age 10, Amber is using the stair stepper, lifting hand weights and doing situps on a stability ball. "She's lost some weight," said Ennen, of Margate, Fla. "Her clothes fit better. You can tell she's firmer."
